$5,000 Grant Now Available to Help Ontario Retailers Go Digital

Ontario retailers now have a fresh opportunity to modernize their operations—with financial support to make it happen. The Retail Modernization Project Grant, a new initiative funded through Ontario’s Digitalization Competence Centre (DCC), is now open for applications.

Through this program, eligible retail businesses can receive up to $5,000 in matching grant funding to invest in digital tools that streamline operations, improve customer experience, and boost long-term competitiveness.

What’s the Grant For?

This $2.5 million grant is designed to help small and medium-sized retailers upgrade their digital capabilities. Funding can be used to adopt technologies such as:

• Online payment and e-commerce platforms
• Inventory tracking and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
• Cybersecurity software and risk management tools
• AI-driven solutions for sales forecasting and business optimization

Whether you’re looking to improve your online presence, manage customer data more effectively, or add secure payment capabilities, this grant can help offset the cost of digital transformation.

Who’s Eligible?

To apply for the Retail Modernization Project Grant, your business must meet the following criteria:

• Be an Ontario-based, for-profit retail business with a physical storefront
• Have operated for more than one year
• Earn a minimum of $100,000 in annual revenue
• Employ between 1 and 50 people

The grant operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so early applications are strongly encouraged while funding is still available.
